Long shelf life — around 5 years from manufacture (the expiry date is printed on every pack). Stored cool and dry, a Multi-Pack or a 600g tub will easily outlast the worming it's bought for, so it's safe to stock up.
How often should I worm?
Routine worming is driven by how much dirt your hens are on — not by the worm species.

The shorter intervals further down (5–6 weeks, 2–3 weeks) are treatment repeats for clearing an active worm burden — not a routine schedule.
What is Flubenol™ 5%?
A flubendazole-based powder that eliminates:
- Roundworms (Ascaridia galli, Capillaria)
- Gapeworm (Syngamus trachea)
- Tapeworms (Raillietina sp.)
Safe for most breeds, tasteless, and non-toxic even at high doses.
Signs of Worms

Mix thoroughly into dry feed for a 7-day treatment.
Why the full 7 days matters
Worms have roughly a 7-day life cycle. Eggs already inside your hens keep hatching throughout the week, so a single dose can't catch them all — it only kills the worms present on that day.
The goal is to keep medication in the bird every day from day 1 through to day 7. That way, as each new worm hatches, the medication is already there to kill it before it can grow and lay more eggs.
Don't skip days or stop early — even if your hens look better. Miss a day and the next wave of hatching worms survives and re-infects the flock.

Tapeworms: Double the dose for 7 days.
How to Dose
- Check your feed ration per hen — usually 125g per day.
- Multiply by number of hens × 7 days to get your total feed ration.
- Multiply number of hens by 0.67g to get your total Flubenol amount.
- Mix evenly into the feed.
- Feed for 7 days, then return to normal feed.
Best Practices
- Clean: Housing and feeders; dispose of droppings regularly.
- Disinfect: Use Poultry Safeguard or similar product.
- Treat all: Treat the entire flock at the same time.
- Clearing an active infestation (treatment repeats, not routine): Roundworm — repeat every 5–6 weeks until clear; Gapeworm — repeat every 2–3 weeks until clear. Then drop back to the seasonal schedule above.
Egg Safety
- No withholding period — eggs are safe to eat during treatment.
- Overdose safe (up to 3× the recommended dose).
